Train Wrecks, such as this 1907 accident involving the quarry switch engine, brought rail traffic to a standstill. Several serious accidents happened in Sandstone rail yards.

The Old Train Depot was located on the south end of the present Lampert’s storage yards, across from the old Chris’ Fairway on the west side of Main Street opposite Lincoln Avenue
