Let’s raise the flag at the Bookmatch again

The Sandstone History Center is raising $3,900 by October 15 to put a flag back where it belongs, atop the Bookmatch, one of Sandstone’s historic buildings. Your gift pays for True North Flag and Flagpoles of Hermantown to outfit the existing flagpole with the pulleys, cords, and rope it needs, a job that takes about two weeks, with a new flag ready to raise before the snow flies.

If giving carries us past the goal, the extra funds will go toward lighting, so the flag can shine through the night.

And if the timing works out, the Center hopes to celebrate with a flag-raising ceremony on Veterans Day, November 11.

How to give by card right here

Enter the number of dollars you would like to give as the quantity, then check out. A quantity of 50 is a $50 gift. Simple as that.

• By mail: send a check to Sandstone History Center, PO Box 398, Sandstone, MN 55072, with “flag donation” on the memo line.
• In person: stop by the History Center and let us know your gift is for the flag fund.
• At the bank: donate at any Northview Bank in Minnesota. Every branch knows the Sandstone History Center flag donation account.
